By the time play came to a halt shortly after 9pm at the Grand Waldo Hotel and Casino in the $US 3200 buy-in event saw 46 of the 125 starters progress to Thursday’s Day 2 but of the high-profile stars only John Juanda and Michael ‘Timex’ McDonald had survived.
