Mercier was born in 1975 in Canada. The one-time blackjack dealer and poker boss at the Aviation Club de France, Mercier took a huge gamble in 2004 when she quit her job to take up life as a full-time poker professional – despite having almost no bankroll to play with. The move has since paid huge dividends.
Known as ‘No Mercy’ for her ruthless style at the poker table, Mercier has already won more than $250,000 in tournament play and is one of the most respected female players on the international circuit.
Her results include seventh-place finishes at both the $5000 Main Event Euro Finals of Poker in 2005 and the $4000 European Poker Tour event in Deauville, a 10th at the EPT Grand Final and an impressive 28th at the $25,000 buy-in 5-Star World Poker Classic.
Mercier has also been a TV commentator for the last three World Poker Tour (WPT) episodes in Paris and has written professionally about poker.
Since winning the World Poker Tour "Ladies Night Out" poker tournament (which was her first) in 2004 – where commentator Mike Sexton first came up with her nickname – she has moved up to 9th in all time tournament winnings for women in poker.
