Well to say the week hasn't been going too well to this point would be a gross understatement. I have lined up in the field of the opening event, the semi-shootout bounty, the 6 handed, the mixed event and a High Rollers satellite all without success.

Each of the above events I feel I played well enough for the most part but unfortunately a combination of coolers, beats and a slice of mistiming had me heading into day one of the Main Event down on confidence somewhat. The High Rollers satellite was particularly annoying as I dominated the table from the outset to get to heads up with a significant chip lead only to blow my chances in a lenghty heads up match. I was so tilted by this that I decided to skip the event altogether.

The last few days I have been relaxing at home with my family and it has been just the tonic that I required to get my mind back on track and ready myself for a serious assault on another APPT title.

I took my seat today at a pretty decent table that included Daniel Neilson, Kelvin Beattie, Stephen Topakas, Tim Horan and a pretty solid young American online kid. The first couple of levels were pretty good for me as I managed to chip up to around 53k with a combination of running well and making some good moves in the right spots.

Unfortunately in level 5 and 6 I dropped most of my stack when the opposite occured, running super bad and making some moves that seemed to backfire just about every time. Going into the last level of the day I was sitting with 18k and pretty shitty generally.

First hand back I pick up black kings and three bet an UTG raise. He thinks for a moment or two before shoving with AK and I call pretty quickly. The flop gave me a good sweat coming QTx, but I managed to hold and double through to a little over 40k. All in all, after a pretty uninteresting day I finished with a little below average, 43,400 chips and still in with a shot of the deep run I'm after here.

Ill be sure to update after what I hope is a very successful day two.
